Township Leases Garage from Abraham’s Former Campaign Treasurer: See The Documents

Manos makes $100 a month on the deal.
UPDATE: But, the $100 comes out of Abraham's pocket.

1) August 22, 2007:  The Township agreed to pay $2,300 per month when it originally approved the contract with Abraham at its August 22, 2007 meeting. Click here to view the Township meeting minutes.

2) September 24, 2007:  Letter from the Licking County Prosecuting Attorney Kenneth Oswalt requesting an opinion from the Ohio Ethics Commission and the Ohio Attorney General regarding Trustee Candidate Fred Abraham’s lease of garage space to Granville Township. Click here to view the letter.

3) September 27, 2007:  Reply to Oswalt from the Ohio Ethics Commission. Click here to view the letter.

6) December 31, 2007:  Trustee Elect Abraham leases his garage space to Guy Manos for $2,200 per month. Manos was Abraham's election campaign treasurer. Click here to view the lease.

7) December 31, 2007:  Guy Manos leases the garage space to Granville Township for $2,300 per month thereby earning a $100 per month profit. Click here to view the lease.

I doubt it matters *who* acts as the intermediary, as long as Abraham is removed from the direct conflict and / or appearance of any impropriety. As for Manos making money on the deal, I would suspect that any other arms' length transaction would be handled similarly. It's works out to a 4.3% "fee" for handling the transaction. Seems fair to all parties involved.

We need to let our elected officials get on with doing their jobs.
