Trustee Abraham In Prohibited Conflict Of Interest
Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann ruled, "To avoid the prohibited conflict, the person may refuse the office of township trustee or, prior to taking office as trustee, divest himself or herself of the interest in the contract."

The Attorney General explained, "We conclude, further, that if a person enters into an ongoing multi-year contract to supply a township with garage storage facilities for a number of years in the future and is subsequently elected to the office of township trustee, the person is prohibited by R.C. 511.13 from serving as township trustee and continuing to have an interest in that preexisting multi-year contract. To avoid the prohibited conflict, the person may refuse the office of township trustee or, prior to taking office as trustee, divest himself or herself of the interest in the contract."
Who cares? We do.
Who cares? We do. That's what being a public official is about: conducting business so ethically and orally pure so that we can concentrate fully on what the official does or does not do while in office.
Democracy simply doesn't work when anyone believes that he does not have to answer to the letter of the law. I don't doubt Abraham's integrity, but this issue should have been dealt with before he became trustee.

Wow more crap, who cares if Trustee Abraham had business with the township prior to the election, what’s important is how he performs his duties , I am sure the only people who care about this are the ones who lost the election and just want something to complain about in their self centered world and not give a hill of beans as to what is best for the township, face it Trustee Abraham has the townships best interest in mind and is performing all of his duties, it would be better for him to just set on his hands and do his regular job.. What do the voters in the township want.. (Review the election results) asked and answered.. Get over this and worry about the Township.. Get a life..
