Gateway District Ordinance Set For Public Hearing

The Village Council set the new Gateway District ordinance for a public hearing on June 18, 2008. Council added some additional architectural styles to the law and limited lot coverage to 60%.

Alison Terry, the Village Planner, suggested several additions to the list of architectural styles the new law will require for construction of new buildings in the district. Color photographs of  all styles in the ordinance can be viewed here.

Terry also reviewed density and lot coverage in various areas of the Village. She reported that most relevant commercial developmensts had impervious coverage of less than 70% but somewhat more than 50%. Council agreed to set a maximum of 60% coverage for the new district.

The public is encouraged to attend the public hearing on June 18, 2008 at 7:30 in the Village Offices.
