Village Council To Consider Drive-through Restaurants For Gateway District
The Village Council will continue its discussion on the draft provisions of
the Village Gateway District at the end of the Council meeting on Wednesday, May 21. Council will consider a Planning Commission recommendation allowing drive-through restaurants.
The Planning Commission provided Village Council with a recommendation for a provision in the new Gateway zoning code that would permit restaurant drive-through's. The regulations of the proposed district could be applied to the River Road area and other "gateways" into the Village. The draft provisions are based upon the existing provisions of the Suburban Business District (SBD).
According to village staff, modifications have been made to provide additional flexibility, to clarify some of the language that currently exists in the SBD, and to address some of the unique characteristics of the gateway areas.
The draft Village Gateway District contains provisions that have been revised by the Staff based on the discussions that occurred at the April 9th Village Council work session. The text that has been highlighted in yellow represents changes that were discussed by the Council during that work session.

Let's become Westerville!
This is great - Granville has a real chance of looking just like Westerville or Heath or every other interchange on a four-lane highway. Fast food, big box stores, and maybe even a Walmart - how great is that?
And just think how much money the developers will make. Then, they can walk away and let us pay for the infrastructure costs, the traffic problems and the loss of charm and beauty.
I say let's do it! Go for it Village Council! Why should you try to protect us? Why not just give the developers what they want? After all, only 80 plus percent of Village and Township residents voted against drive-throughs in the last scientific poll.
Go ahead - vote with the 20%. Vote with the developers. Give us urban sprawl.
Oh boy!!!
I hope we get a CHUCK E CHEESE PIZZA...and a HOOTERS!!!!
It will be a one stop location for the whole family!!!!!
